What else can an elementary school teacher, besides teaching?
My background is in education. I have a degree in Primary Education (1-6) and a master's in reading. What else I can do other than teach? I can not afford to pay less than what I am doing now. Thanks for the help.
How long have you been teaching? With a masters in reading could probably move to a position more administrative. I have a degree in elementary education and am working for my Masters. I am certified elementary (1-6) and middle grades science (5-9). I am the technology coordinator at my school and I have taught other teachers how to integrate technology into the classroom. This is the opportunities open to me that provide greater responsibilities accompanied by wage increases. The best thing about teaching is that there are many paths we can take! I have been teaching for 10 years and never I'm never bored. There are also great opportunities to work for the publishers of textbooks and software, consulting positions (especially for reading teachers!) And many other jobs that support education. If you like what you do, but we need to find change. There are many ways to make education a bit more money and still doing what you love. We will probably never get rich (about playing the lottery, though – you never know) but I'm doing enough to survive some luxuries, as long as I'm careful with it. Also, I love working with children and work at a job that I love is a great source of satisfaction in my life. Good luck!
