Are you a math problem solver for your child?
You can play an important role in your child's learning, especially when this is middle school math. Middle school math help is essential because children are introduced to new mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry, probability and more. If these concepts are not clear from the first day, children are forced to confront the problems in high school or college. It's great if you're from a background of math yourself, it becomes much more easy for you to control your child's progress in mathematics. Even if you're not a math background, there is nothing to worry about, and there are steps you can take to help your children from nightmares mathematics.
– You can encourage your child by asking him to create a mathematical review or practice schedule at home. For example, you can start creating graphs and formulas or important numbers to keep the review as and when have time and needs a break from the rest of the task (or other activities). You can question him occasionally in these formulas and that will soon become routine fun you and your child can participate in.
– Some children develop a very negative attitude towards the issue and refuse even to try to understand the concepts of self-study. You can use your math text guide and encourage them to see worked examples in the book. You can do this exercise, even before the teacher takes the subject in school so you know what to expect and are able to relate better with it.
– If these do not seem to work, to your child a little extra help before it's too late. You can talk to your school teachers or math department asking if they have a list of tutors or high school or college students who are willing to teach in their spare time. Teachers are very expensive, however, by hiring school secondary or university students can get financial help without spending much money. There are many learning centers where children can go once or twice a week and get some help. Online tutoring centers are also gaining popularity. They provide online math very affordable and all the scheduling flexibility you may want, without compromising the quality of teaching.
– Although the most important thing to do (something more than being a problem solver in mathematics) is to understand the root cause of the problem. Some children are at that stage of adolescence and it's hard to sit down and actually "talk" with them. Some children begin to dislike the subject because they do not like his math teacher at school. Some children do not do well in groups and the need for personal care. If you do not perform well in class, instead of assuming that your child is not working hard enough or not paying attention in class, try to understand the problem and take appropriate action to resolve it. There are many online blogs and forums to meet with parents face similar problems and can develop their own network, interact with each other and try to address the problem of their child.
